Advanced Features

1. Compare Items

Select one item in the left list box and one item in the right list box. Make sure both are of the same type (both are Programs or both are Combis or both are Drum Kits or both are Arps). Click the button labled Compare. A dialog box will appear providing the results of the comparison. If they are different the dialog will look something like this:

TritonLib Dialog Screen Shot

2. Create a Report Text File

Both the source file area and the destination file area have a report button. It looks like this . To generate a report press the button associated with the file you want a report on (source or destination). You will be prompted for a filename which defaults to Report.txt. All the Programs, Combis, Drum Kits and Arps will be listed. If Global data is included in the file, this will be noted at the end of the report. The report looks something like this:

3. Copy Entire Bank

Select the bank you wish to copy from in the combo box on the left. Select the bank you wish to overwrite in the combo box on the right. Press the button labled Bank -->. The entire contents of the bank will be copied. Note: since Arp Bank A/B is a different size than Arp Bank C and Arp Bank D, you will not be able to copy from one to another. You are able to copy Arp Bank A/B to Arp Bank A/B or Arp Bank C to Arp Bank D.

4. Fill Bank

Select a patch you want to use to fill in the left list box. Select a bank to be filled in the right combo box. Press the button labled Fill -->. The bank on the right will be filled with the patch you selected.

5. Properties

Select a patch in the right list box. Press the properties button. It looks like this . A dialog box will appear that looks something like this:

You may change the name, category and tempo of the patch. Note: Drum Kits and Arps only allow editing of the name.

6. Menus

All of the buttons have equivalent functions in the menus. The File, Edit, and Report menus contain these items. The Help menu contains items to bring up the About box, and to link to pages containing the latest information about TritonLib on the TritonLib website.

7. Compare Banks

There is no button allowing you to compare banks, but under the Edit menu there is an item labled "Compare source bank to destination bank". This will tell you which items are different in comparing the source and destination banks. As you might expect the two banks must be of the same type. A dialog box will appear that looks something like this:

8. Speed Copy

If you select an item in the source listbox (on the left) and double-click on an item in the destination listbox (on the right) the item will be copied, and the selection in both listboxes will be moved down by one. This will allow you to copy sequential items very quickly.

8. Combi Helper

When you copy a Combi, TritonLib will compare all of the Programs that are used by the Combi. If they are present and identical in both the source and destination PCG files no prompting will occur. If a program is missing or different between the two PCG files then a "wizard" will appear that allows you to copy the programs (if they exist in both the source or destination) or notifies you which programs cannot be resolved because they are missing from one of the PCG files. The first panel of the wizard looks like this:

There will be one panel for each of the 8 programs used by the Combi. For instance, if the first program was different between the source and destination files the next panel would look like this:

TritonLib Property Sheet Screen Shot

If you want to copy the first program (so the Combi sounds correct) check the checkbox on the panel. If you check the checkbox, the panel will look like this:

The indicator has now changed from red to green. In some situations there is nothing that TritonLib can do. For instance, if the destination file does not contain the Program bank that contains a Program used by the Combi, TritonLib cannot copy the Program. In this instance a panel would look something like this:

TritonLib Property Sheet Screen Shot

In all of these panels you can press the Details button to get the names of the source and destination Programs. Once you have gone through the panels for the eight Programs, then the following panel will appear:

If you press Finish, the Combi and all the Programs that you selected to be copied will be copied. If you press Cancel, nothing will be copied. You can press Back to go to previous pages and make changes.
